This is a highly technical product that performs rock demolition through deflagration (rapid combustion with subsonic flame propagation, without explosion) rather than detonation like high explosives (supersonic combustion involving a shock wave and a reaction zone).

When the tool is activated, it ignites the propellant cartridge at the bottom of the drilled hole in the rock, generating gases whose pressure is transferred through the fluid column as mechanical tension, which is released by the tensile fracture of the rock.
